Project Engineer - Audio System
The Project Engineer for the Audio System is responsible for the support of hardware such as the Battery Powered Speaker Microphone Unit (BPSMU), the Communications Carrier Electronics Module (CCEM), the Hand Held Microphone and the Very Lightweight HeadSet (VLHS), but may be assigned to related tasks within the department. Responsible for design, development, test, implementation and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. May develop a range of products. Responsible for the solution of complex system problems. Develops instructions and establishes guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Key member of a team/teams of technical personnel performing complex engineering activities. Assists in the design, development, test, implementation and analysis of technical products and systems. Works under immediate supervision. Travel may be required. Perform other duties are required. This is a team ESCG position with MEI Technologies. Requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering - ABET - accredited college or university (preferred); no experience required, but prefer degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 to 5 years of experience. Certification and/or sustaining engineering for GFE flight hardware experience a plus. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Working knowledge of writing and processing Task Performance Sheets (TPS), Discrepancy Reports (DR), JSC Flight Equipment Acceptances (JF1027) and Shipping Documents (JF290) desired. Working knowledge of commonly-used JSC concepts, practices and procedures desired. Has working knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures within the engineering field. Must meet eligibility requirements to receive and maintain a DoD security clearance. Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which this position has been advertised. Apply here
