Program Manager

Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining. Plans and manages all development, certification, initial production and aftermarket efforts associated with military and/or civilian aircraft fire protection system programs. Works with marketing, engineering, product support, quality and operations organizations to develop winning management, technical and cost proposals. Thoroughly understands the customer's requirements from specifications and statements of work. Develops WBS based on the SOW and standard WBS definitions. Identifies and manages program risks. Develops consolidated non-recurring costs estimates from engineering inputs. Creates the program's consolidated earned value baseline and controls the program within its boundaries. Develops and maintains the program's integrated master schedule. Identifies and controls scope change throughout the program. Serves as the primary management point-of-contact with the customer throughout the program and maintains world class customer communication. Prepares and presents periodic program status reports to senior management and the customers. BS degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Management with 8+years experience, or MS in engineering or MBA plus 5 years experience in Defense or Aerospace Engineering or Program/Project Management. Project Leadership: Cross discipline (Engineering, Marketing, QA, MFG) management responsibilities; Primary customer focal point. Program Management: Must have 3 or more years experience as Program Manager of a program covering design, development and verification of an aircraft system (from customer's RFP through aircraft certification); or 5 years experience as Project Manager of an Integrated Product Team working on an aircraft system or subsystem through design and verification. Must have served as the primary focal point with the external customer for the program or the IPT. Excellent written and communications skills required. Proven track record of leading development programs. Team player attitude a must. 25% Travel required Must be US citizen or US green card holder.
