Principal Systems Engineer (Systems Engineering Regional Team Lead)

This person will be the architecture tooling subject matter expert for the national SE tools team and report to the National SE Tools Discipline Manager. As the architecture tool lead, this person will develop the architecture tools strategy/roadmap in addition to support, sustain, and deploy systems engineering architecture tools and processes across all five major NCS sites and for SAS/TX. This person will also be the Systems Engineering Regional Lead responsible for the SE tool activities at one of the major NCS sites (St. Pete or Marlborough). Supervisory tasks include mentoring other SE team member(s) both locally and possibly at other sites. This person will work closely with the IS site operations manager, regional program managers, and SE discipline engineering manager to ensure that program tooling needs are being met. Required Skills: * Systems Engineering Experience (8+ yrs) * Systems Engineering Program Experience in DoD program (3+ yrs) * Advanced understanding in the application of Systems Engineering Automation tools; Systems Architecture & Design (2+ yrs experience in Rhapsody, RSx, and/or System Architect) * Understanding of the Systems Engineering Process * Strong people skills. Able to work with people possessing a variety of skills and experiences * Strong computer skills * Strong team leadership and mentor skills * Strong communication and presentation skills * Strong problem solving skills Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance Desired Skills: * Systems Engineering Experience (12+ yrs) * Systems Engineering Program Experience (5+ yrs) * Experience as a team lead with experience with performance reviews, budgets, and other supervisory tasks (3+ yrs) * Experience in the application of two or more of the following Systems Engineering Automation tools areas: (Requirements Management, Math & Simulation, Systems Architecture & Design, and Test/IV&Verification) (4+ yrs) * Experience assisting users in troubleshooting tool problems * Process Experience: Generating work instructions and enablers, instructing others in an SE process area (Peer Reviews, Requirements Management, metrics, etc) * Experience in the application of Statistical Design Methods and/or Design for Six Sigma tools * Experience in the Software domain and/or Object Oriented Systems Engineering * Top notch computer skills and programming experience in one or more languages * Strong technology interest and desire to improve systems engineering process through use of technology/tools * Self directed and good organizational skills * Ability to build relationships across geographically dispersed and matrix organization Required Education (including Major): B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical degree; minimum GPA - 3.0 Raytheon is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, gender, age, color, religion, disability, veterans status, sexual orientation, or any other protected factor.
