Successful candidates for this Spacecraft Systems Engineering position will work in a technical role for the National Security Systems (NSS) group for a variety of U.S. customers. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge research-and-development and flight programs on fast-paced development and procurement schedules. Duties include contributing to the general systems engineering activities for a specific NSS program. This may include CONOPS development, requirements flowdown, tracking, verification, and the writing complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports from advanced studies, special engineering investigations, and similar activities. The candidate should be knowledgeable in aerospace systems and spacecraft subsystems design and operations. Advanced analyses relating to mission and technical problems may be required. Position may also include responsibilities relating to integration, testing, and operational readiness of the system. The role will include interfacing with external customer technical representatives as well as internal engineering associates and program management. Candidate may be called on to assist in new business activities such as conceptual design and analysis for proposals and funded studies and may include authoring sections for both.Desired experience may include military space operations, CASE tools such as DOORS, Cradle or CORE, and various analysis tools such as MATLAB, MATHCAD, and STK. Experience in any of the following areas is also desired: orbital mechanics, spacecraft attitude control, power systems and modeling, avionics or digital electronics design, risk analysis, optics, communications, rocket propulsion, thermal engineering, or spacecraft integration and testing. As a principal engineer, the position is expected to be mostly self-directed using previous experience to recognize and mitigate spacecraft and payload technical issues as they occur. Required Education/Experience:A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Chemistry, Engineering, Math, Physics or equivalent experience is required.Seven years of related experience is required.SSBI Clearance required.
