Payroll Administrator

I. SUMMARY
The Payroll Administrator is responsible for maintaining information in the ADP payroll system. Keeps all information completely confidential. Enters information from employees documents to update the information in the ADP system. Must understand how all information relates to the pay system, including salary, timesheets, withholdings and deductions associated with net earnings. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision and reports to the Payroll Manager.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*Preparation of semi-monthly payrolls.
*Inputting, filing, and analyzing data related to the ADP system and preparation of pay sheets for payroll transmission.
*Inputting payroll deductions for employee benefits. Inputting WGPS information and maintaining records and following up on garnishments with agency of authority.
*Preparation of new employee information and creating reference files. Checks and verifies information to maintain a consistent payroll.
*Preparation and filing of payroll changes documentation for SOX requirements.
*Distributes payroll checks and vouchers in office and the IAT Building.
*Answers inquiries for payroll verification.
*Meets stringent deadlines with a positive attitude.
*Other duties as assigned to assist North American Airlines in achieving its operational goals and objectives.

III. QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential duties of this position. A. Education and/or Experience
A minimum of two years of experience in accounting, with sound knowledge of basic accounting principles, is required. A minimum of one year of payroll experience and ADP experience or training, with knowledge of ADP payroll and HR procedures, is strongly preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associates degree is preferred.

B. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
*Must be knowledgeable in Excel and Word, possessing fluency with the basic functions of both programs.
*Must possess very strong and accurate data entry/keying skills.
*Must have an interest and ability in Serving Others as one of the primary functions of their job.
*Must have strong Communication Skills; Must be comfortable with engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
*Must be able to Identify Problems, their Sources, and their Potential Solutions while continuing to successfully conduct day-to day operations without interruption. While not necessarily accountable for the solutions, an individual must be able to identify potential resources to help in the decision making process for a particular problem.
*Must have the ability to Take Initiative on a given task or project and Persist with the project to its completion.
*Must possess an ability to Manage Ones Own Time, to ensure that the work that needs to be accomplished in a given time frame is, in fact, accomplished. The ability to Prioritize the work provided by others in terms of importance is imperative to this position.
*The ability to Receive Direct or Indirect Instruction and act upon such instruction to accomplish a given task or duty. In the event of unclear instruction, must have the ability to clearly Ask for Further Information at their own discretion to gain clarity around tasks.
*The ability to Process Information from a variety of sources and to Articulate Information in a meaningful way to ones co-workers or supervisors is critical to this position.
*Must have a strong working knowledge of ones Field or Discipline in which they find themselves engaged on a daily basis. Becoming fully aware and informed of current trends, developments, and changes in the sub-industry is critical for this.

C. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
ADP certificate is preferred for each program used.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

A. Travel Requirements
No traveling for this job is expected.

B. Physical Demands
Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about, or occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light materials (typically less than 8 lbs).
