Job Description:
The Vocabulary Specialist will work in a team-oriented environment, directly interface with a Department of Defense (DoD) customer and be a member of an Enterprise Vocabulary Team. The Vocabulary specialist will be the primary interface to assigned communities or offices through development of vocabulary artifacts and provide specific support and guidance consistent with approved methodologies.
DutiesManage relationship with DoD community points of contact in support of their data strategy implementation.Manage development of a Standard Information Structure that includes a glossary, semantic model, and an object model.Advise DoD customers on adopted approach to development of vocabularies that are based on business process definition and identifying authoritative data sources.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a related field and three years of experienceThree years of related experienceExperience in a substantial subset of the following technologies and engineering practices: taxonomy and ontology development, XML and OWL schema development, content or entity extraction, commercial search engine technology/techniques, metadata and metadata creation, indexing schemes, automated tools to support schema integration and analysis, taxonomy and ontology workbenches and analysis tools, and related current and emerging representation and query standardsProficiency in systems integration analysis Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and ProjectReliable, self-motivated, and focused on qualityAbility to work as part of a team Exceptional written and verbal communication skillsDynamic personality that can adapt to changing requirementsEligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in a related fieldFive to ten years of related experienceActive DoD Secret clearance.Experience with government and commercial contracts
