The Network Engineer II will configure and monitor the routing of traffic throughout the network and is responsible for maintaining network availability. She/he will ensure compliance with change control processes and adhere to standards and documentation. She/he will participate in system maintenance activities and contribute to the optimization and performance of the enterprise infrastructure.QualificationsResponsibilities: Assists in configuration, supports, and maintains routers, switches, network appliances, and other communications devices. Works closely with the Security Engineer. Assists in monitoring the routing and flow of traffic throughout the network. Ensures enterprise wide scalability and performance through performance monitoring and tuning. Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems. Creates and maintains comprehensive network documentation Supports the Implementation of test plans, migration plans, and delivery plans. Provides network and application troubleshooting support. Responsible for ongoing support of configuration and layout of Enterprise infrastructure. Performs necessary infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and customers change management policies. Assist in the designs of data migration architecture as required.. Support the Enterprise recommendations and best practices, as applicable, for the following areas: Business Continuity High Availability Backup, Recovery Archiving Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable. Assist Network Architect in documenting designs and policies associated with networks. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment ? multi-tasking, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Experience handling complex support desk escalations; monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex network environments. Job Requirements and Qualifications:Strong technical background and in-depth knowledge of delivering complex solutions using industry best practices and methods. Demonstrated 5+ years of technical engineering and support experience operating and maintaining WAN environments with extensive experience with WAN protocols, MPLS, and encrypted tunnels over public/private networks. Demonstrated experience supporting large scale Enterprise WAN infrastructures. Extensive experience with routing and switching VLANs, tunneling, spanning tree, trunking, multicasting, and MPLS). Experience with various technologies used to deliver highly redundant networks on all layers of the OSI model. Experience with network security platforms and technologies. Extensive knowledge of network monitoring and management tools. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels of the organization. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment ? multi-tasking, prioritization, and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner. Experience handling complex support desk escalations; monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex network environments. Education and Professional Certifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related engineering or technology discipline.Professional Certifications (desired): MCSE or MCSA VCP (VMware) CCNA or CCNP
