Missile Modeling Software Engineer

The Missile Modeling Engineer will provide support to the Threat Modeling Center (TMC) on the Joint Regional Defense Center (JRDC) program at Schriever AFB, CO. TMC is responsible for the development and delivery of high fidelity threat modeling products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Primary responsibilities include designing, developing, maintaining, modifying, and testing ballistic missile models for integrating ballistic missile and aircraft systems in high resolution simulation media in support of Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS) events. This is a technical engineering-oriented position. Required Skills: Qualified candidates must have the following: - Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years software development/engineering experience. - Experience in modeling and simulation. - Must have experience in model design and development. - Knowledge of aerospace fundamentals and design principles. - Attention to detail is a must. - Must be customer focused, able to work in a team environment, and able to produce reliable models , products , and documentation within established deadlines. - Must have an active Secret and be able to obtain a DoD Top Secret clearance. Qualified applicants may be subject to a background investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required. Desired Skills: - Experience in 6-DOF missile modeling . - Strong math, physics, or engineering background is desired. - Familiarity with intelligence products , missile defense doctrine , concepts of operations , tactics , techniques , and procedures . - Knowledge of the flight characteristics , motion , atmospheric dynamics , and missile performance parameters necessary to model ballistic missiles is highly desired. - Working knowledge of C or C++ .
