Metallurgists Needed!

 

My Client is looking for 8 metallurgists as they continue to grow and expand!Summary of Position Responsibilities:Originate, control, and develop metallurgical processes used for producing forgings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, modify, improve, and troubleshoot the metallurgical process associated with the production of of our products. Perform various Metallurgy Department projects, including planning, organizing data collection, and presentation. Ensure all processes are designed to meet or exceed customer requirements as specified on purchase orders, blueprints, specifications or other related documents.Perform other work-related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Required Skills, Education and Qualifications:You must be a US Citizen. Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Sciences or related field. Ability to utilize Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Ability to read, write and speak English. 5-8 minimum experience in metallurgical, engineering or other related field. Mechanical Engineer with expereince with Solid Works, Solid Edge, or Catia Cad System. American Society of Metals (ASM) registration. Ability to occasionally push, pull or lift up to 45 lbs for work-related reasons.

My client is a growing  heavy-industrial manufacturer of forgings for the air, sea, and land industries  The company operations encompass melting, forging, heat treating, and a full service machine shop.  Operating on Lean manufacturing principles, the Company has grown exponentially in recent years. 

 

 

Job Description:



A dynamic hands-on Metallurgist position for monitoring product processes in forging opoerations.. Responsibilities will include monitoring quality parameters of daily production, oversee work instructions are correctly followed to ensure quality objectives are met, detect process variations,  and identify   potential causes for nonconformance. (Not a research position)

 

 

Job Requirements:

 

One to five years in the steel industry preferably in process metallurgy monitoring quality-related manufacturing processes.  Required: : BS in metallurgy.

Basic Function:

 

Assist with the development, implementation, and operation of all the quality activities of the company to include Metallurgy Lab and Testing, Final Inspection, Product Certification, Quality Engineering and Systems.  Be the technical specialist consulting on all forging products and process technology.  Act as the primary customer contact for Prime / First Tier quality issues and complaints.

 

Basic Requirements:

 

·  Plan the quality strategy and programs for the company.

·  Provide for compliance with all Aerospace and Customer quality systems and standards such as ISO9002, AS9000, ASQR-01, NADCAP, etc.

·  Analyze and perform technical evaluation of new alloys / processes and develop technical manufacturing plan.

·  Plan and coordinate the development and integration the new customer’s quality specifications and standards into the company operations.

·  Design, develop, and assure proper operation of the quality information and control systems used by the company.

·  Perform to the established quality metrics and management required reporting.

·  Coordination of functional departmental operations for the most efficient and effective delivery of product assurance.

 

Additional Requirements:

·  Education: Minimum Bachelor of Science (or Engineering) in Metallurgy .

·  Experience: 5 to 7 years progressive experience in quality and/or engineering with at least 3 years experience in the Aerospace industry, preferably with forging or first tier manufacturers.

·  Must have at least 3 to 5 years experience as a manager

·  Knowledge & experience in aerospace grade alloys (nickel based, titanium, Waspalloy,etc)

·  Demonstrate exceptional level of written and oral communication skills

·  Possess the highest level of ethics and integrity in Customer communications.

·  Able to develop and execute PowerPoint presentations for senior management level (up to and including Board of Directors)

·  Must be US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident Alien (due to ITAR Compliance regulations)

·  Must have a US Passport and be willing to travel occasionally
