Metal FabricatorDescription: Metal Fabricator Our Client is seeking a Metal Fabricator with experience in a sheet metal prototype and production environment. Must be able to develop, layout and produce sheet metal and fabrication projects.Job Responsibilities: Follow and interpret prints, perform set-ups and complete parts assemblies. Fabricates various objects from oral and written instructions. Read and interpret blueprints and working drawings. Plan welding work and make estimates of materials required. Use of acetylene and electronic welding equipment (i.e., MIG, TIG and standard) and other standard tools and equipment related to the trade. Interpret geometric tolerances to machine. Inspect parts, and set up machines for various parts including complex castings and extrusions. Operate punch, brake, turret and shear press. Proficient with measuring equipment: micrometers, calipers, height gauges, comparators. Performs occasional mechanical repairs on heavy duty equipment.This is an estimated contract to hire position through Volt Technical Resources- a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, located in Portland, Oregon. Requirements: Required Skills for this Metal Fabricator position include the following: Minimum of 3 years of previous experience with a strong background in the use of machine shop and metal fabrication tools and equipment including lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, sheet metal brakes and presses. Special Skills: An aviation background is a plus.
