Mechanical Technician

This position is contingent upon award. Here are a few more details about the open position:Job Title: Mechanical TechnicianSupporting: Technologies Solutions & ServicesTechnologies Solutions & Services of BAE Systems Inc. provides a full spectrum of systems engineering, technical services and ordnance systems to our customers in disciplines essential for successful systems development, operation, and maintenance.  Our full life-cycle systems capabilities include system design, integration and test, software development engineering, and maintenance and integrated logistics support. Position Details: Plans and performs installation and test of mechanical modifications to, and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and structural components for, complex systems such as military shelters, aircraft (including engine(s)), ground vehicles, etc., as may be applicable. Works from, and assists in the development of, engineering drawings. Works independently, with minimal supervision. Will read and interpret mechanical fabrication and installation drawings. Perform installation and troubleshooting of various mechanical systems on to various SOF/CSAR fixed and rotary wing aircraft. Perform mechanical sub-assembly fabrication. Will use basic hand tools and sheet metal modification tools. Qualifications: Experience: Four (4) to Seven (7) years in mechanical design and sheet-metal fabrication on systems as appropriate to the task. Skilled in the use of hand tools, air tools, rivet Tools, and sheet-metal and some machine tools (such as shears, breaks, notchers, saws, milling machines, lathes, etc., as well as measuring tools, test instruments, and painting equipment. SOF/CSAR or DoD experience preferred.  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: AA Degree preferred or a Graduate of a technical school Airframe/Power Plant license is preferred.BAE invites candidates with an active security clearance to submit their resume for consideration for this position.
