That's why we're here. Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer 3/4 Position Description These positions are for the CH-47 Tandem Rotor and other programs. Supports or leads the development, documentation and technical quality review of the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid systems and thermal environment to establish the system design. Supports or leads activities to validate and verify mechanical and fluid systems requirements. Supports or leads the development, maintenance or modification of system components designs/proposals to provide installation and detail documentation to downstream groups. Performs and documents analyses. Contributes to the management of or manages supplier development, test and production activities and directs the supplier to optimize integration and achieve program goals. Prioritizes, delegates and tracks performance and documentation of analyses of components and systems selecting appropriate methods to validate or assess the design. Supports proposal preparation and new business development efforts. Trains and coaches others. Works under general minimal direction. [ + ] Computer Aided Design Tools Basic - Able to apply a complete understanding of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to build and manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files). Preferred -Extensive and specialized ability to analyze and interpret company products (e.g., ability to analyze and interpret all products and services with the group). Makes use of and applies job practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Recognized as a job expert within the department/organization. [ + ] Engr Knowledge & Comprehension Basic - Complete knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables. Preferred -Ability to manipulate complex computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to build and manipulate complex data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files). [ + ] Mech Component/System Eng Basic - Complete knowledge of mechanical component and system design, analysis, and integration. Complete knowledge of the tools required for design, analysis, evaluation, and integration (i.e. computer aided design systems, mathematical modeling software, tolerance analysis software). Preferred -Extensive knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables. Education and/or Experience Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
