What are the duties of the contractor?Responsible for creating engine component designs with regard to function, durability, manufacturability, including material specifications, in support of New Product Development initiatives. Responsible for the technical and procedural aspect of engine component designs from initial layout through final drawings. Provide design, analysis and coordination assistance on Product Development projects. Provide guidance to drafting, CAD operators. Supervise rapid prototyping, tests and evaluations. Consult, interface with suppliers, customers on designs and specifications as needed. Recommend Engineering changes and ensure timely and accurate preparation and implementation. Create conceptual CAD models, bills of material (BOM’s), and engineering change orders (ECO’s) for engine specs, process specs, and drawings. Participate in R&D projects as part of a team of multidisciplinary engineers. Provide engineering support for field product support and technical publications. Prepare, present, and review formal reports. May train and/or mentor less skilled personnel.   Background Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (preferred). Minimum 5 years design, analysis experience or demonstrated ability to contribute at a high productivity level. Minimum 1 year experience with FEA software (NASTRAN or ANSYS preferred). Minimum 1 year experience with CAD 3D solids based parametric modeling systems (Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, or Unigraphics preferred). Components Design, Structural (Statics and Dynamics) Analysis, Engine Systems (preferred), CAD, Modeling & Analysis. MS Office Suite Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word. Familiarity for Project and Access. Teamwork approach, presentation skills, ability to resolve conflicts. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills. Ability and willingness to travel 10% as necessary. Knowledge of GD&T and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.
