We currently have openings for a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineer with gas turbine and overhaul experience in our Desoto, Texas facility located on the outskirts of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.Description:Product Engineering positions are designed to provide engineers with a challenging environment as a technical lead in assuring the quality, durability, reliability and cost of overhauls of gas turbine engines and accessories for one or more Solar product lines. This role works closely with Overhaul and design resources and Worldwide Overhaul Centers to address and document technical issues that arise during disassembly, detailed part and sub-assembly remanufacturing and processing, gas producer and power turbine assembly, testing and operations in the field. Additional responsibilities include providing technical guidance and leadership to less experienced product and manufacturing engineers, both domestically and internationally.Additional responsibilities involve performance and data analysis, materials research and analysis, engine assembly support, research and analysis of design changes for product improvements, manufacturing support, identifying tools for conformance with specifications in the areas of reliability, performance, cost, serviceability and manufacturability. Functions: · Facilitate the continuous improvement of processes, procedures, equipment, and tooling· Provide technical engineering support to all internal customers (Sales, Customer Service, Production, Quality, Materials, and Purchasing)· Support customer field service technical inquiries and issues· Develop shop routings and process instructions for gas turbine engines· Identify and evaluate tooling and fixtures· Assist planners, supervisors, and shop engineers with technical support Qualifications:· B.S. Degree in Engineering· Three to five years of gas turbine technical experience in a gas turbine manufacturing, remanufacturing or assembly and test environment.· The following skills and experience are required: Five years of experience in manufacture or repair of gas turbine hardware. One to two years experience leading project teams. One to two years experience in applying statistical analysis tools. Experience and proficient in using engineering and office-based computer applications on a regular basis. · Certified 6 Sigma Black Belt or 6 Sigma Black Belt experience preferred but not required.Solar Turbines offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, vacation, 401k, pension, incentive bonus, tuition reimbursement and more.
