Materials Manager / Supply Chain Manager

Our client, global provider of engineered services and products, has an immediate opening for a Materials Manager. Relocation is being provided along with an excellent benefits package and 401K Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.   Ensures that established master schedules for customers are met. Monitor execution to released schedules and coordinate appropriate problem resolution tasks. Works to control inventory levels, cycle time, machine loads, and other aspects as required to meet production schedules. Provides guidance and policy to all production control specialists. Drives continual improvement projects and recommend strategic goals and policies. Set strategic direction for planning & scheduling activities within the organization. Provides leadership in using advanced planning tools to model, simulate, and release optimized material plans to the organization and in developing, planning and implementing the master schedule. Determines and applies appropriate optimization methodologies to balance inventory and resource utilization using advanced planning tools. Responds immediately to the needs and concerns of employees providing them with the tools and facilities required to perform their jobs properly. Manages the allocation of people and hardware resources to most effectively meet company objectives. Works closely with project managers to monitor execution to released schedules and coordinate appropriate problem resolution tasks to ensure material availability and scheduling issues are addressed.QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience  Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management preferred. 10 - 15 years experience supply chain management, materials management, manufacturing or master planning-scheduling and/or combination of education and experience. Integrated planning systems experience/training such as ERP/DRP/MRP/MPS is required. Experience in shop operations, facilitation and production control in a manufacturing environment, Production Planning, inventory management principles and practices, and Materials management disciplines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Master's degree and professional certification from APICS and/or ISM is desirable. PeopleSoft ERP System experience is a plus.
