Materials Engineer (E, F, G)

The company designs and builds armored vehicles and subsystems for the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, and international customers, and is the defense industry's largest supplier of armored military vehicles.Description of Work: - Provide Materials Engineering technical support to the manufacturing operation at JSMC. - Support planning, prototype hardware fabrication, and assembly processes for current and new vehicle programs and act on engineering issues that have the potential to interrupt program or delivery schedules. - Identify and communicate engineering problems to Design Engineering for resolution using problem reports. - Resolve Material Problem Reports. - Prepare Engineering Change Proposals (ECP's), deviations and Waivers to resolve technical problems. - Provide technical support/project management as assigned on engineering special projects. - Provide engineering support to Production through Material Review Board (MRB) activities. - Provide technical interface with on-site customer the U.S. Government. Job Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree required in Materials Engineering with strong practical experience with metallics, non-metallics, rubbers, plastics, metal finishing, paint, adhesives, sealants, lubricants and preservatives. - Ability to function in a team-based environment. - Minimum of 1-10 years experience in the Materials Engineering profession required, depending on the level filled. - Management skills and ability to communicate to support problem solving efforts. - Must be able to pass entry requirements for military vehicles. - Computer skills with Windows based PC systems and associated software. - Occasional travel required. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to interface with internal and external engineering organizations as well as ability to work alone in a self-motivated fashion. - Pro-E or electronic modeling experience desirable.Required Education: BSSubmit Your Resume Online NowGeneral Dynamics Land Systems is an Equal Opportunity Employer Job Title:   Materials Engineer (E, F, G) Location:   Northwest Job Category:   Engineering Requisition Number:   LIM-LE-08-5829 Career Level:   Experienced (Non-Manager)
