We are currently recruiting for a Master Assembly Mechanic.  The Master Assembly Mechanic performs evaluation, testing and repair of UAV hardware in an lab environment via -mechanical disassembly and assembly, some electronic testing, composite structure and airframe repair, flight controls and troubleshooting. Will be responsible for trouble shooting & repair of mechanical portions of the entire TUAV system to include air vehicles, ground equipment & support equipment. Specific duties will vary by work load and may cover a wide range of assembly and repair techniques. Must be able to train and mentor lesser skilled mechanics. Maintains good housekeeping, safety standards and calibration requirements.

 

Must be able to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions, procedures and engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and assembly techniques. Ability to use precision measuring and layout tools. Ability to use and apply basic math skills. Knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical and hydraulic assembly techniques. Knowledge of military and commercial quality specifications is a plus. Ability to use common hand and power tools. Ability to set-up and operate torque equipment and pressure devices and basic electrical equipment. Ability to work independently and in a team must also be a self-motivated. Strong personal computer skills required. Ability to read schematics, wire data lists and assembly drawings a plus. Experience with TUAV a plus. Must be willing to travel. This position will be exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds amount of force constantly to move objects. Visual requirements is the minimum standard for those whose work deals largely with visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines, and assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes. Must be able to wear a respirator if required. Must have a valid drivers license.

 

Typically requires seven years experience with a high school diploma, or equivalent education or experience to demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the job duties. Technical certificate from trade school, military or community college a plus.

 

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a government security clearance.
