We have a Manufacturing Test Engineer II opportunity available at our Olathe, Kansas facility. Provide technical support and leadership on the production floor to resolve quality, test, manufacturing, and supplier issues.
Provide technical support and leadership for lean, kaizen and HOS initiatives.Improve test processes using 6-sigma methodologies in order to achieve ISC goals. Tools include, but are not limited to: Process Maps; Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEAs); PFMEAs; Product Scorecards; Test Cones.Specify test tooling needed to support production operationsDevelop and maintain test and quality documentation, as required, to ensure efficient operations from receiving through to final test. Disposition Non-conforming Material and provide Root Cause and Corrective Action and data reporting on quality issues.Review incumbent test solutions against current, best-in-class, practices and improve where warranted.Act as a liaison between the production floor and customers, suppliers, design engineering, test services, purchasing, leadership, etc., on quality and technical issues.Facilitate supplier involvement on test and quality issues.Develop Production Test Requirements and ensure inclusion into overall Test Services requirements. Preliminary or initial test development may be necessary to adequately define test requirements.Define Test flow and layout for production floor.Determine Test Capacity and ensure adequacy of test solutions.Review and approve test equipment designs and other IPDS Phase Gate exit criteria.

Basic Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical)

• PC literacy required, including Microsoft office.

• Requires 2+ years of Engineering experience.

• Good verbal and written communication skills required.

 

Additional Qualifications: Possess a strong knowledge of electronic and mechanical manufacturing methodologies.Possess the ability to apply technical principles, theories, and concepts in developing efficient solutions to a variety of problems.Experience in six sigma plus; Green Belt or similar quality certification preferred.Good interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively with Production Associates, Design Engineers, Test Engineers and Leadership.Working knowledge of MS Project, Minitab and MRP II preferredExperience in project management.Motivated Self Starter; able to work with minimal supervision.Masters degree in Engineering is a plus.
