Responsibilities1. Primary interface between customer and Production team. Assure optimum shipping schedules and adhere to established quality specifications and contract commitments for products of an assigned production team. 2. Provide leadership by promoting effective communication and teamwork among all team members assigned to a production program or production team. 3. Assure the most effective utilization of manpower throughout the production program or production team. Review all program budgets and assure the efficient planning and control of team size, allocation and overtime assignments for cost effective labor utilization. 4. Establish procedures and assignments to be followed to meet the completion dates as planned; ensure estimates of manpower needs, cost and budgets are prepared, established, and monitored; review and evaluate progress of assigned activity. 5. Monitor labor and expense budgets and institute necessary cost controls to meet company's profit goal on assigned programs. 6. Assist Buyer/Planners for vendor selection, production scheduling, cost approval and vendor defect control and feedback. 7. Assure the selection and application of equipment, Assembly Work Instructions, tooling, and processes that directly and effectively contribute to the success of the team and product. 8. Provide effective liaison with customers and team to assure satisfaction and efficient resolution to problems or issues. 9. Provide support and guidance to Marketing to obtain follow-on or repeat business, increase the scope of the programs and improve the company's position in obtaining related programs by enhancing its reputation for dependability and integrity. 10. Review and approve all contract changes with team and special attention paid to cost, schedule and risk elements. 11. Provide a proper, productive working environment for production teams through efficient work cell layouts, healthy and safe facilities and positive communications and personnel relations. 12. Monitor materials and expenses and inventory levels and institute necessary cost controls to meet company's profit goal on assigned programs. 13. Assure consistent cost reduction through daily or weekly communication meetings with team members and institute goals as well as process changes to achieve goals. 14. Select, train, and develop subordinates. Assign work for most efficient utilization of personnel, reviewing their activities to assure quality performance. Make appropriate promotional and salary recommendations or take appropriate disciplinary action if required.
QualificationsAn Associate's degree in a technical discipline or Business (Bachelor degree preferred) and 5-7 years related experience to be proficient in the above areas or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma required.
