Manufacturing Planner 3 Position Description Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration. Develops manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives. Develops and integrates suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements. Reviews and approves supplier data to ensure manufacturing related requirements are met. Develops tooling requirements based on manufacturing and engineering requirements. Manages tools from initial design to end of use disposition. Investigates and resolves manufacturing related issues. Performs producibility assessments for part or product designs. Provides producibility input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules. Develops integrated work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments. Drafts, updates and reviews processes and procedures to support business and regulatory agency requirements. Works under general direction. [ + ] Assembly Process Complete knowledge of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data). Ability to differentiate production (manufacturing) processes and requirements from in-service procedures and requirements. [ + ] Drawings/Data Sys and Models Complete knowledge of and ability to use and interpret drawings, data systems and models associated with supported systems/platforms. [ + ] Engineering Technical Info Complete ability to read, understand and interpret engineering technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards and specifications). [ + ] Manufacturing Methods Complete knowledge of manufacturing, methods, fabrication processes (e.g., forming, stamping, machining, heat treatment, machines/machine tools, cutting tools and fluids, N/C programming, instrumentation, data acquisition and control systems). Ability to select the best method of producing parts, tools or assemblies. Education and/or Experience AA degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Job related information As a part of Integrated Defense Systems Philadelphia Rotorcraft, multiple positions exist with potential initial short-term offsite assignment in Charleston, SC and returning to Philadelphia for either Boeing commercial aircraft or onsite rotorcraft support. *** Please note that depending on the specific position, you may be required to pass additional medical tests, credit checks, and/or other requirements.
