Manufacturing Engineer (Metallurgical Processes)
Hamilton Sundstrand is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and industrial products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs. Our industrial products serve industries ranging from hydrocarbon, chemical and food processing to construction and mining. Responsible for development, improvement, and technical oversight of various aerospace chemical and metallurgical processes in the Special Processes department. The Engineer will have responsibility for: * Ensuring the documented processes conform to customer requirements * Review and monitoring of those processes with the goal of continual improvement in part flow and quality and a reduction in cycle time. * Responsibility for implementation and facilitation of ACE initiatives throughout the department. * Ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety regulations * Root cause analysis along with corresponding implementation of corrective action. * Technical interface for various HS departments (other operating unit engineers, Procurement, Quality, etc.) In addition to the above responsibilities the engineer will be involved with various aspects of Special Processes external business. The external business is a job shop with approximately 90 customers. Among the additional tasks to be performed are: * Quoting, pricing, and invoicing individual jobs as required. * Technical interface to answer various engineering questions related to processing of work for Hamilton Sundstrand, Pratt and Whitney, General Electric, and other aerospace and commercial primes. * Customer service providing job status information, handling expediting requests, invoicing/pricing concerns, etc. * Processing shipments including, packaging and labeling * Whatever else is necessary to ensure our customers receive compliant hardware, processed as quickly as possible, for a competitive price. Bachelor(`9s Degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Candidate should have strong communication skills, be willing to adapt to ever changing demands, flexibility to do whatever it takes to satisfy the customer. Experience working in an aerospace heat treating or plating job shop environment is desired. Computer skills required include Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and mainframe are desired. United Technologies Corporation is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
