Manufacturing Engineer / CP4845
Position Description:
Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics in Seattle has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to support our Production Department. Perform manufacturing process improvement through troubleshooting. Work cell design and layout. Coordination of tool maintenance and PMs. Monitor and reduce scrap levels in high production arena. Work with outside vendors including quoting through implementation of cost savings measures. Assist Quality Assurance in corrective action implementation. Project management-new programs and capital equipment.EDUCATION, SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:Must be a United States citizen or Permanent Resident• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technology, at least 2 years of technical experience in manufacturing, and 2 to 4 years manufacturing engineering experience.• Understand cellular manufacturing concepts. • Tool and fixture design experience. • Must understand AutoCAD and CNC programming.• Must be able to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers. • Experience in high production work environment and lean manufacturing desired. • Must be mechanically inclined and able to understand engineering drawings and concepts.• Knowledge of Six Sigma a plus.RESPONSIBILITIES:• Supports manufacturing and assembly areas including CNC programming, fixture and tool design, and layout.• Works with product design engineers and operations personnel to improve production capabilities and reduce manufacturing costs.• Analyzes and solves flow, efficiency and capacity problems and automates manufacturing processes as needed.• Quotes new and existing work by developing labor and material estimates.• Writes work instructions for shop personnel to use in the manufacturing and assembly of complex thermoformed parts.For more information, contact Leilani Lucrisia at (206) 760-2228.
