Machine Shop Production Supervisor - Call 310.316.8186 Description: Volt Professional Search has partnered with an industry leader in manufacturing and supply of lighting materials to clients in various industries including Aerospace / Defense, Medical, Commercial Airliners and Automotive. With their recent acquisition of a 40 year old company, our partners are experiencing rapid growth, and to satisfy this growth we are looking for a Machine Shop Production Supervisor who can manage a team of 3 Operators within the CNC Lathe Machine Shop. This specific facility cuts and laminates glass and manufactures plastic molding. The Supervisor will take drawings and sketches from the management and assign employees to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements. On determining the work procedures, the candidate will also coordinate with support groups to resolve problems affecting scheduling and productivity. Other than the day to day production activities, in an attempt to meet production goals on time at the lowest operating cost, the Supervisor will also ensure that all company policies are adhered to while making sure employees are well aware of the safety rules. Since this is a facility that manufactures sensitive materials for the Aerospace industry, maintenance of machinery and cleanliness of the facility to pre set standards is of utmost importance. Requirements: Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 3 years of hands on knowledge in running a CNC Lathe based manufacturing facility. This is a leadership position, with potential to manage more employees in the near future, therefore, the ability to hire, train and discipline employees is mandatory. A successful leader is an excellent communicator and a true 'manager', similar to what an ideal candidate would be for this position. Candidates with a stable work history with demonstrated vertical growth will be given preference. Automotive / Aerospace industry experience in manufacturing lighting products is an ultimate plus.Preference will be given to resumes formatted in Microsoft Word, with detailed duties and responsibilities of all positions.
