NORDAM, one of the largest privately-held aerospace companies in the world, headquartered in Tulsa, OK, is recognized worldwide as an industry leader in the manufacture, repair and overhaul of aircraft bonded-honeycomb and all composite components, fan/thrust reversers, nacelles engine components, interiors and aircraft transparencies.
Summary Statement: Ensures the plans and performance of the various functions within the organization meet or exceed management expectations Manages the planning, coordinating and performance of ledger maintenance, report preparation, operating and financial data, and other financial and accounting activities. Manages and coordinates the activities of professional personnel engaged in obtaining and recording financial data for use in maintaining accounting, financial and statistical records. Manages the company's monthly and annual closing cycle within the accounting systems. Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: Works within established organizational objectives. Accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors or through experienced exempt and nonexempt staff. Performs typical responsibilities of management requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work is reviewed for adequacy in meeting cost, schedule and quality objectives. Prepares and issues consolidated financial statements and other executive management information or analysis from financial data. Maintains the accounting consolidation systems. Monitors, analyzes and reports actual results in comparison to planned results of business plans and investments including appropriate recommendations of actions which may be necessary. Analyzes and prepares narrative report of key issues reflected in monthly operating results and make appropriate recommendations. Manages the process of the consolidated budget including preparation of budgets, review of budget proposals, and preparation of necessary supporting documentation and justification. Prepares reports, which summarize and forecast corporate business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates. Designs and executes administrative and financial systems process improvements. Recommends modifications to existing corporate programs. Manages determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Prepares reports for governmental surveys. Provides an internal resource for GAAP and tax treatment of actual and proposed transactions. Analyzes impact of different acceptable treatments of new transactions and report issues and recommendations. Prepares compliance documents and monitors compliance with debt agreements. Adapts conventional accounting and recordkeeping functions to computerized accounting processes. Sets up classification of accounts and organizes accounting procedures and computer hardware and software systems. Devises forms and prepares manuals required to guide activities of bookkeeping and clerical personnel who post data and maintain databases. Manages credit function including establishment of credit for new customers, review of creditworthiness of existing customers, and maintenance of legacy customer master data. Reviews organization, staffing and training, and development plans to ensure that they are consistent and adequate for attainment of goals. Ancillary Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications other than the primary assignment.QualificationsJOB QUALIFICATIONS: MANAGER CORPORATE ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING Formal Education, Training, Professional Certifcation and Work Experience: Experience may be substituted for the formal education and training requirements in this section at the discretion of management. Bachelor level degree in Business, Accounting or Finance and eight (8) or more years experience in the accounting discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. Categories and Number of Stakeholders Directly Supervised: Office and Technical 1 Salaried Professional 4 Supervisory/Management 1 Communication and Special Skills: Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms. Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Special Training and Behavioral Competencies: The following training requirements and competencies must be met before acceding to this job. · Safety training applicable to the work area and job performed. · Complete the required NORDAM University training for Managers, Directors, General Managers and Executives. · Comply with The NORDAM Group Leadership Competencies for Managers, Directors, General Managers or Executives as applicable. · Ability and willingness to assist and transfer technical knowledge to less experienced Stakeholders. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Stakeholder to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Stakeholder is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The Stakeholder frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. The Stakeholder is occasionally required to stand and walk. The Stakeholder must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel between facilities and operate standard office equipment. Work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week as required. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Stakeholder encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, noise, temperature and other elements in the shop area, if required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work in stressful situations and handle multiple priorities. Demonstrate interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to interact effectively with other people, inside and outside the Company.
