MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Mechanical design of new products; electromechanical, motors, shafts, bearings, springs, machined, molded, sheet metal, DFM, electrical interconnect, etc. Research of new parts, processes, or methods to incorporate into new designs. Prototyping and testing for design validation.  Design documentation including solid modeling and assembly drawings. Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) of new and existing designs. Bill of Material (BOM) creation and maintenance. Creation of manufacturing work instructions for production implementation of designs. Implementations of new engineering designes as they transition to production. Assessment of tooling requirements including tooling design or specification. Part and vendor evaluation and qualification.

Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from accredited University required. Need a minimum of 3.2 GPA or 3 years relevant experience required. 2 years experience in electromechanical design preferred (not required). Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interface with production personnel, engineering, management, and other departments. Organized and results-oriented. Incorporation of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required. Working knowledge of AutoCAD required. Significant solid modeling software experience, SolidWorks preferred.
