Load Planner (2008-2009) - TSC110633 Raytheon Polar Services Seeking a unique adventure as well as employment? Raytheon Polar Services is the primary contractor for the National Science Foundation's (NSF) U.S. Antarctic Program. We are currently looking for a Load Planner to deploy to McMurdo and South Pole Antarctic research stations on a contract basis from approximately October 2008 to February 2009. We are looking for Primary and Alternate employees to fill all contract positions. The Primary is first in line for the position. The Alternate is next in line to deploy should the Primary be unable to meet deployment requirements. Responsibilities: Coordinates with 109th AW Operations Duty Officer, the Fixed Wing Coordinator, Passenger Services Representative, and the Airfield Supervisor for Cargo/Passengers being transported. Interfaces with the Joint Inspectors, Air Transportation Specialist-2's and Christchurch NZDF load teams for the coordination of Load Planning, Aircraft Loading/Unloading and Documentation. This position is responsible for properly calculating the weight and balance of cargo and passenger flights utilizing Automated Air Load Planning System (AALPS). This essential duty has zero room for error since flight safety is extremely important. Will prepare up to 14 load plans per shift and send completed flight packets to the airfield prior to scheduled load time. Qualifications: REQUIRED SKILLS: High School Diploma or Equivalent is required. Valid Driver's License is required. Knowledge of aircraft load planning and regulations governing transportation of hazardous materials is required. A minimum of four years of air cargo or airline experience, preferably in a logistics environment is required. Familiarity with MS Office computer programs (MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook email systems) is required. DESIRED SKILLS: Class "A" License is desirable. Military aircraft knowledge is desired. Experience with CTS is preferred. AALPS experience is preferred. At least one season as an Air Transportation Specialist in McMurdo/South Pole or equivalent work environment is preferred. SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Successful receipt of the AMC Airlift Loadplanners Certification is preferred prior to commencing work in Antarctica. Additional Polar Information: All contract positions include competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. For the time you are in Antarctica compensation also includes travel to and from the ice, room & board, and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus upon successful completion of your contract. FYI - Only authorized personnel are allowed on station and you need to remain on station for the duration of your contract except in case of emergency.
