Lead Software Engineer

Sensis Corporation is comprised of two divisions:Air Traffic Systems:Sensis Air Traffic Systems division is a leading provider of surveillance, information technology, and simulation and modeling for the aviation industry with customers that include air traffic service providers, civil aviation authorities, airports, airlines and system integrators. Defense & Security Systems:Sensis Defense & Security Systems division increases tactical capabilities through advanced radar detection and surveillance integration products. Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for managing the Software Development team in support of a 2-D radar upgrade program. This will include interfacing and influencing the RF, digital, and analog designs of the program, and setting up the software development environment.The position involves:- functional and technical leadership of assigned software engineering team- leading the implementation of the technical requirements (documenting the updated and developed design) for the software code fabrication and unit testing, and system integration of software for the Signal Processor (SP) and Transmitter (TX). - support formal test and validation efforts. - adherence to the CMMI and Sensis SW Development process (including proper documentation and CM related activities) - support Program Manager with applicable status as required- schedule and cost compliance/tracking- assist in task planning of existing and future opportunities, and support of all internal/external program meetings - peer/technical reviews as well as system integration. Education required:BSCS, BSEE, BSCE, or equivalent plus 8-10 years of relevant engineering experience in software product developmentExpertise Required:- Strong C/C++ programming skills required. - Experience with Configuration Management, Requirement Management systems - Windows and Linux software development- Some Domestic & International travel will be required- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.- Individual should be responsible, self-motivated, energetic, inquisitive with strong leadership & interpersonal communication and teamwork skills. Clear and concise written and verbal communication with effective time management skills. Possess high standards of quality and is detail oriented. Writes effectively. Learns quickly. Interfaces respectfully with customer and subcontractor. Understands the need for control and repeatability. Handles responsibility well. Desired Skills:- Radar experience/knowledge - Implementation experience developing real-time displays and GUIs- Implementation experience with embedded software development- Java programming experience a plus- Experience with Matlab/mex a plus- Working knowledge of Object Oriented Software Design methods (OOAD) and Design Patterns a plus. - Implementation experience with eXtended Markup Language (XML) a plus- Implementation of CORBA in distributed systems a plus- Implementation experience developing GUIs (MFC/Swing) a plus DoD experience are a plus.- Knowledge of ACE+TAO a plus- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills and effective time managementSensis provides an excellent working environment offering advancement and professional growth opportunities, competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package.
