Defense & Security Systems:Sensis Defense & Security Systems division increases tactical capabilities through advanced radar detection and surveillance integration products. Customers include the worlds militaries as well as system integrators. Sensis Corporation has multiple openings for Junior/Mid-Level Systems Engineers at our Syracuse, NY facilities.The Sensis Air Traffic Systems (ATS) Division seeks systems engineers to contribute their skills to our Aviation Surveillance Programs. Aviation surveillance encompasses all forms of tracking the location of aircraft while in flight and on the surface of airports. Techniques typically consist of a combination of primary and/or secondary radar, multilateration, and ADS-B (automatic dependent surveillance broadcast). Sensis specializes in the design and deployment of these solutions, the development of integrated surveillance systems, and the fusion of the track information each creates. As a member of the Sensis Team, you will focus on new programs with our FAA customers. Sensis Systems Engineers also contribute to new business development and to development of advanced capabilities through our internal research and development programs. Responsibilities include:Requirements development and analysisDevelopment of alternative solutions that satisfy the requirements including design, make .vs. buy trade studies, and development of the integration and test plans by which candidate solutions can be evaluatedParticipation in all facets of the implementation of the solution including system design, factory integration and testing, installation at the customer site, performance of integration and optimization of the installed system, system acceptance testing, documentation of the as-built system, and contributions to user training and system support and logisticsCreating written technical documentation and verbal presentations to internal and external customersMaintaining a positive and productive customer relationship in order to meet and exceed customer expectationsAdditional Activities include:Be a member of the technical team on multiple projectsSupport internal and external technical reviewsInterface with customersClearly articulate system architecture and functionality Support the generation of proposals including pre-proposal activitiesAssist in the design, implementation and test of new and/or enhanced system architectures and functionalityGenerate system specification/requirements that meet customer needsPerform requirements allocation to hardware and softwareConduct/support lab and field integrationSupport test engineering to develop the test strategy to meet the requirements listed in the Statement of WorkSupport/perform data analysis, prepare briefings, and write reportsParticipate in Technical Interchange Meetings between Sensis and customersAssist in hardware and software troubleshooting Education Required:Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems, Information Systems or similar engineering degree program.Required Skills:5+ years of applicable experienceSelf starter with demonstrated ability to multi-taskSuperior communication (verbal and written)and teamwork skillsSuperior time management skillsAbility to negotiate, influence, and resolve conflicts Proven ability to develop new and innovative solutionsProven ability to communicate the need for necessary enhancements with peers and with managementProven ability to conduct systems performance analysesProven ability to prepare systems specificationsExperience with computer systems communications and data distribution Experience with MATLABDesired Skills:Understanding of and experience with ground and cockpit aviation surveillance sensor systems Exposure to DOORS Familiar with software-hardware interface specificationTravel Requirements: estimated at 25%Sensis provides an excellent working environment offering advancement and professional growth opportunities, competitive salary, work/life balance and a comprehensive benefits package.
