Jr. Software Engineer (Modeling & Simulation)
The Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Discrete Event Simulation (DE Sim) program provides an end-to-end simulation of all components of the BMDS. DE Sim is part of the Joint Research and Development Contract (JRDC), at the Missile Defense Integration & Operation Center (MDIOC) on Schriever AFB, CO. A Junior Software Engineer is needed to develop modeling and simulation products for DE Sim. Tasking includes design, development, unit testing, integration support, and documentation. Responsibilities include: * Develop simulation software to model various missile defense system components. * Develop software that facilitates mission planning and post-game analysis for a variety of wargame events. * Assist in system-level integration and testing. Required Skills: Qualified candidates must have the following: - Must have 2 - 4 years experience in any/all phases of software development including requirements analysis, design, code, test, and integration - Proficient in C++, developed on a UNIX environment - Able to work both independently and in a team environment - Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. Qualified applicants will be subject to a background investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for classified information. U.S. Citizenship is required. Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance. Desired Skills: * Experience in any/all of the following software areas: modeling & simulation, real-time development, parallel computing, GUIs, databases, infrastructure. * Experience with any/all of the following skills: Java, PC-based development, CMMI.
