That's why we're here. Inventory Modeling Tech Spec 4 Position Description Serves as a functional member of the Service Planning and Optimization (SPO) core team. Identifies, evaluates and incorporates new and innovative methods, technologies and tools to build data sets and run models/simulations to support business decisions. Performs analysis of data to assist internal customers. Monitors trends and conducts studies in spares modeling. Sets up and prepares complex data to develop and manage multiple data sets to run demand forecasting, strategic optimization, initial spares models and logistics simulations. Analyzes, manipulates, updates and optimizes multiple, complex models. Assists in the development of new modeling and simulation tools, technologies and business and application processes to identify process improvements. Will be assigned as the focal for implementations of SPO on new and already implemented programs, providing support for modeling questions and training. Will interface with internal programs and the supplier for software issues/defects. Will participate in various integrated product teams supporting the Supply Chain Management organization and Sustainment Data Systems project. Works under minimal direction. [ + ] Spares Forecast/Optimization Extensive knowledge of and ability to identify, collect, and analyze customer fleet data, sales and characteristics (e.g., fleet composition, fleet usage, age, maintenance) in order to develop spares forecast, determine correct inventory composition, configuration, stock level and geographic location. Demonstrates the ability to configure complex model settings, load data, and run models. Understands and demonstrates the ability to use complex demand forecasting and spares optimization methodologies (i.e. fill rate, availability, general understanding of algorithms) . Understands the results of forecasting/spares optimization and demonstrates the ability to explain to others. [ + ] Spares Planning Extensive, specialized (depth) knowledge of Spares delivered product support configuration requirements and business processes to produce work instructions for spare parts and kits. [ + ] Statistical Concepts Extensive and specialized knowledge of statistical analysis concepts. [ + ] Supply Chain Strategy Expert knowledge of supply chain strategies (e.g., inventory reduction, parts kitting, supplier consolidation, optimum flow, lead-time reduction). Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Job related information Supply Chain Management modeling and spares planning experience and background is considered essential for this position. Some travel is required (domestic, with possibility for international).
