Intelligence Analyst/Desk Officer II
Intelligence Analyst/Desk Officer II Battelle is a world leader in science and technology research. Our International Technology Assessments (ITA) Product Line specializes in providing support to clients engaged in national security. ITA is seeking candidates to fill an Intelligence Analyst/Desk Officer II position in the Metro Washington, DC area for full-time, rotating shift work. A current Top Secret clearance is required for consideration for this position. A full benefits package will be provided. Position Responsibilities The Intelligence Analyst/Desk Officer II is responsible for specific portions of projects/programs as assigned and provides solutions to an assortment of intelligence assessment activities in support of Combatant Commands. This analyst is expected to have experience with the Intelligence Cycle (collection, fusion, analysis and production), and will be expected to work on teams. The analyst will support watch operations by monitoring events and indications and warnings, performing analysis, completing classified analytic products, maintaining metrics on production, and briefing on the products. Under supervision, they will be expected to employ new methodologies and utilize new technologies to assist with analysis. Senior staff members will provide work direction, as well as review analyses and results. The position involves applying fundamental concepts, practices and procedures to conduct a variety of intelligence analysis projects; capturing information and data regarding intelligence needs of clients; analyzing and synthesizing information as needed. The Intelligence Analyst/Desk Officer II will be required to work in a very fast paced operations center environment. The position will also require project/task leadership as assigned. Required Qualifications 1. A minimum of ten years of scientific intelligence analysis experience or scientific research in support of the Department of Defense intelligence community. 2. Mission management or watch center experience. 3. Familiarity and previous use of analytic tools and exposure to new analytic methodologies used by various members of the intelligence community. 4. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 5. General knowledge of US foreign policy. 6. A thorough knowledge of U.S. regulations governing intelligence operations and DoD activities. 7. Experience working with complex structured and unstructured databases. 8. Developed data mining and information analysis skills. Desired Qualifications 1. The candidate should possess an advanced (Master's or PhD) degree in a scientific discipline such as chemistry, biology, public health or environmental science. 2. Team leadership experience. 3. Field experience in intelligence or emergency response operations. Security Clearance Applicants must possess a current final (non-interim), active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
