The Mission & Systems Solutions (MSS) business area within RTSC has a diversified portfolio of contracts to include Submarine On Board Training in a Groton, CT office, where we currently have an opening for a Junior Programmer. Job Description: The qualified candidate will provide QA support to the Submarine On Board Training (SOBT) office, ensuring that web-based courseware is developed in accordance with the SOBT Developer's Guide specification. Daily responsibilities will include Quality Assurance testing, documentation of deficiencies, providing guidance to outside contractors who are producing courseware for SOBT, and assisting other members of the SOBT programming team. Assist with network administration of SOBT's internal development/testing LANs. Provide technical support to military project managers. Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Required Skills: Working knowledge of: HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and XML. P roven experience hand-coding HTML, JavaScript, and XML. Strong attention to detail. Ability to do thorough step-by-step testing, including cross-platform testing, and to provide detailed documentation of test results. Self-starter. Familiarity with Microsoft operating systems/browsers including: Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and above. Ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Positions at SOBT may require U.S. citizenship for purposes of obtaining clearances. Additional clearance may also be required from the Department of Defense (DOD). Education: Current BS degree, or actively pursuing a degree, in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a degree in a quantitative discipline (i.e., Mathematics, or Engineering). Desired Skills: Knowledge of client/server concepts, in regard to both a web-server environment and file-server LAN environment. Knowledge of maintenance and administration of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Small Business Server, IBIS and Microsoft SQL Server.
