This position is responsible for ensuring information systems used for classified data processing are properly configured, accredited, operated and maintained according to Government directives.  This position will report to the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and the Facility Security Officer (FSO) in assuring the compliance of all Classified IT systems with the National Industrial Security Program and all aspects of the NISPOM, especially Chapter 8.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

Applies knowledge of information technology security principles, practices and procedures to support the ISSO, ISSM and FSO.

 

Establish and/or maintain the certification and accreditation of all Information Systems (IS) that process classified information in accordance with the appropriate regulations which govern the protection of classified information.

 

Responsible for configuration management of information systems, ensuring information systems audits are accomplished, ensuring test equipment is properly sanitized, and maintaining the certification and accreditation of IS.

 

Responsible to ensure within classified program areas that hardware and software profiles are accurate and that protection profiles and/or SSP's reflect any changes since the original certification and accreditation. Ensure all PCs and IS equipment are properly labeled.

 

Conducts and review weekly IS audit logs and report any anomalies to the ISSO and ISSM.  Assists ISSM with government customer inspections. Maintains files of all hard copy/printed AIS documentation. Coordinates all HW/SW changes with the ISSM.

 

Works independent of direct supervision to execute tasks within the established framework.

 

Selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must have the following:
* HS Graduate actively pursuing, at minimum, an Associate's Degree in a related field with up to 2 years related experience
* Technical understanding of IT networks and networking
* Eligibility to obtain an interim SECRET security clearance within 60 days of hire, and afterwards obtain a TOP SECRET clearance
* At least 2 years experience installing Microsoft Windows XP Operating System

Prefer the following:
* MCP, MCSE certifications
* Security+ certification
* Experience setting up and configuring network devices
* Associate Degree in an IT-related field of study
