That's why we're here. High Voltage Electrician Position Description Repairs and maintains HV Electrical plant and office facilities equipment. Operates site equipment as needed. Performs painting, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, plastic and sheet metal fabrication, and other associated work on plant facilities. Uses hand and power tools as directed. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment and facilities. Ensures compliance with and adherence to applicable codes and regulations. Interfaces with company organizations, customers, and suppliers to meet company business requirements. Repairs, rebuilds, inspects, and tests facilities equipment and assets, ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and manufacturers' instructions. Diagnoses equipment failures, plans and measures performance tests, creates solutions, and repairs or replaces equipment or components. Performs preventive maintenance, maintains historical data, recommends new products, equipment, and process improvements. Competencies Prior operations and maintenance experience in missile facilities, or other military installation preferred. Must be able to diagnose facilities technical problems, use electrical testing equipment and make workman like repairs to industry standards. Must be proficient in electrical distribution systems, substations, and switchgears and electrical circuits >400 volts. Alaskan trade license preferred. Possess knowledge of first aid and safety procedures with a through understanding of OSHA and EPA requirements. Handle items weighing up to 40 pounds. Occasionally, with assistance, handle items that weigh more than 40 pounds. As required, stands, stoops, kneels, climbs and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Respond to emergency callbacks after normal duty hours as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned. Operate in accordance with Corporate, Operations and Division policies/practices and in compliance with accepted business ethics. Must possess basic computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively (oral & written) with employees and customers. Education and/or Experience 2 years' technical education and 6 to 10 years experience, with skills appropriate to the assignment. Alaskan trade license preferred. Other Job related information Job is located at Fort Greely, AK 100 miles SE of Fairbanks. This position supports a 24/7 maintenance operation. *Limited Moving Incentive (lump sum only) may be available. Housing allowance may be available. Temporary on-site housing may be provided dependant upon Government availability. Over time, on-call rotation, and call backs to support work requests will be required after normal working hours, on holidays, and weekends. Required to support Boeing Team at other locations and be available for off-site training. Travel required. Applicant must be able obtain a secret clearance. Cold Weather Work Clothing Allowance is available.
