Flight Hardware Certification Engineeer
Will perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the development and verification of flight hardware certification and acceptance including, but not limited to: (1) evaluate and analyze technical products and systems, (2) develop and validate Configuration Status Accounting records to ensure traceability of the product configuration from design through test and delivery, (3) work with hardware development projects to assure understanding and implementation of certification and compliance requirements and processes, and (4) support the performance of audits to validate compliance with established requirements, processes, and procedures. These duties will encompass the creation, collection, and development of data packages in support of deliverable flight hardware; requires the review of testing and product configuration work authorizing documents, extracting the data as required, and determining if the requirements have been met. Utilizes knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, procedures, and tools across several disciplines to perform engineering evaluation/analysis of flight and non-flight products and associated documentation. Also may establish work priorities, plan tasks using available resources, track costs, and interface with customers as required. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Performs other duties as required. This is a team ESCG position with MEI Technologies. Must have US Citizenship. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering - ABET accredited college or university (preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Requires experience in working with engineering documentation in support of flight hardware certification and acceptance, and also a demonstrated understanding of the product certification and delivery process in a government environment. A basic understanding of product life cycles, configuration management, and traceability is highly desired. Must have the ability to communicate and work well with both the customer and team members and perform assignments with minimal supervision. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Project, and Access preferred. Experience in reading drawings, supporting implementation of design requirements or changes, and supervising and scheduling work for at least 10 or more people is a plus. Must meet eligibility requirements to receive and maintain a DoD security clearance. Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which this position has been advertised. Apply here
