Flight Certification Systems Engineer
Black Ram Engineering Services, LLC, the leading provider of engineering services and high-end technical solutions for the defense and space industry, is seeking a Flight Certification Systems Engineer (FCSE) to work in Integrated Systems who will be responsible for obtaining certification of advanced unmanned aircraft to comply with the Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) navigation requirements. This position is located in Palmdale, CA.
The successful candidate will lead and effectively work within interdisciplinary teams of engineers--including members of the prime contractor and subcontractors teams--and will engage in all aspects of systems engineering, modeling and simulation, integration, test, and validation/verification activities.
The basic qualifications for the position are as follows:
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, software, physics or systems engineering or Master of Science degree in the same disciplinesA minimum of nine (9) years of related systems engineering experienceExperience in definition, development and flight certification of aircraft to meet airworthiness and federal aviation standardsExperience in advanced development aircraft verification/validationExcellent communication, organizational and interpretive skillsAbility to act as an advisor to management and customers on technical issuesAbility to effectively interact with interdisciplinary and intra-company teams of systems engineersActive Top Secret security clearance with ability to be cleared for Special Access
The preferred qualifications for the position are as follows:
A minimum of 7 years of flight certification experienceA minimum 7 years of experience in end-to-end military system development processUnmanned aircraft experience a plusExperience using model based systems engineering tools such as CORE, DOORS, or SLATEAbility to travel as neededProficiency in MS Office Suite including MS Project
