Finite Element Analyst, TS/SCI

  FINITE ELEMENT ANALYST, TS/SCI   Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA), an Employee-Owned international research and engineering company is seeking a Finite Element Analyst to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA) combating WMD mission. ARA is the prime contractor on a multi-year systems design and engineering effort, conducting Finite Element Analysis of specified equipment and analyzing kinetic and non-kinetic destruction of specified equipment. This opportunity provides very interesting work on real-world problems for The Department of Defense.  The successful candidate’s primary responsibilities include performing detailed finite element calculations and analyses on coupled mechanical, thermal, and electrical systems. Candidate must have working knowledge and experience in mesh generation, transient dynamic solutions, and post processing. Experience in numerical simulation of structural systems based on formal course work of finite element analysis, as well as extensive work experience with finite element codes such as ANSYS and LS-DYNA is desired. Familiarity and interaction with structural dynamics and modal testing is a plus.   REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:   · BS or MS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences, Physics, or closely related field. · Years Experience: BS with five years of related experience; MS preferred. · Proficient in ANSYS, LS-DYNA, Matlab/Simulink, or similar software · U.S. Citizenship and background investigations are required. · Strong oral and written communication skills. · Active TS/SCI clearance.   COMPANY INFORMATION:   Applied Research Associates, Inc. is an employee-owned international research and engineering company recognized for providing technically superior solutions to complex and challenging problems in the physical sciences.
