FEA Design Engineer
Title:
Diesel Engine Validation Engineer
Description:
The Global Engine Development-North America division of a large company has a need for individuals who want to develop engines in the validation and performance arena.
These positions are for individuals desiring an opportunity to guide test cell operators that conduct testing activities to achieve engine rating performance targets and validation objectives.
Responsibilities will include engine test coordination, engine debug, problem resolution, data quality assurance & analysis and creation of test instructions on engines for various applications.
Close interaction with other engineers, test cell operators, performance analysts as well as design representatives, will be required.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
1. 4-year engineering degree related to diesel engine development.
2. Ability to guide other technical staff. Versatility to handle a wide variety of engine development challenges and desire to work around engines.
3. Good understanding of diesel engine operation and development involving validation testing in addition to performance and emissions characteristics.
4. Working knowledge of the use and application of data acquisition equipment and instrumentation, and experience with analysis tools or a willingness to learn.
5. Effective communication and project management skills.
6. The ability to work well in a team environment.
Desirable:
Diverse engine development experience, experience with engine electronic control systems as well as a good understanding of both steady state and performance/emission test cell operations.
Experience with test cell control systems. Good understanding of engine components and their function as a system.
Education Requirements:
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
