Experienced Investigator (Contractor Part-time) - DHS - Kroll Government Services - Del Rio, TX

Kroll Government Services (KGS) is currently seeking Contract Investigators in Texas.  Applicants must reside within 50 miles of Del Rio, Texas. 
 
Investigators will conduct background investigations in support of National Security, specifically focusing on casework for three federal agencies: Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). 
 
Primary duties include conducting background investigations for the purpose of employment suitability of persons who require access to sensitive or classified U.S. Government information.  Investigators will conduct face-to-face interviews with the subject and his/her neighbors, employers, friends, and family.  Investigators will also perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, educational/financial institutions, and medical/mental health facilities.  Investigators then report all information obtained in a clear and concise report. 
 
Contract Investigators work from their own homes with remote supervision and are reimbursed for casework on a work-completed (per investigative item) basis.  This position receives reimbursement for the cost of approved work-related activities, such as mileage, tolls, parking, and fees.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must have a minimum 3-5 years of professional experience working in federal, state or local law enforcement in an investigative capacityActive federal security clearance with an SSBI is preferred; if a candidate does not have an active clearance, must be able to obtain & maintain government security clearance, which includes an investigation of 10+ years of history including items such as residence, education, employment, financial, medical, and personal recordsCandidates holding current CBP or ICE creds preferredU.S. citizenship (required for security clearance)Ability to commit at least 20 hours per week to work with KrollDue to the nature of this position, a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of current auto insurance are required Ideal Candidates Will Have:
