DescriptionSupport the NASA ELV office on the Analex team in a wide range of engineering tasks, including tracking the design, development, manufacturing, testing, processing, launch performance and troubleshooting of liquid and solid rocket motors used by Atlas and Delta for NASA missions and next generation launch vehicles. These tasks will involve heavy communication with both NASA and Launch Vehicle Contractor (LVC) engineers to ensure mission success on future NASA ELV launches. Candidate will contribute to and present at Engineering Review Boards on related concerns that affect future missions along with attending and contributing to LVC Design Reviews, NASA Readiness Reviews, hardware inspections and major operations at the various KSC, CCAFS and VAFB facilities. Candidate will also be involved with reviewing related documentation from design drawings and requirements documents to hardware build papers, along with manning a telemetry console during launch to monitor and assess system performance. Candidate will be required to clearly and concisely document findings and concerns and present to fellow engineers and NASA engineering management.Required SkillsCandidate needs a minimum of five years experience in an engineering environment working with and around liquid/solid rocket engines, preferably in the ELV community. Candidate should have a strong comprehension of liquid/solid rocket engine theory, manufacturing techniques, assembly, installation and performance characteristics. Candidate should also be familiar with hypergolic, cryogenic, and solid engine systems and preferably have direct experience with any or all of the following engines; RL-10, RS-68, RD-180, AJ10, NK-33 and RS-27Candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, have good communication and interpersonal skills, good computer skills and be familiar with standard Microsoft applications and Windows OS. This position will involve both US and international travel. US citizenship required.Required ExperienceCandidate must have a Bachelors degree or higher in an engineering related field or have equivalent experience and knowledge.Ability to clear National Agency Check investigation required.
