Leading Seattle based Avionics Manufacturing Operation has an immediate opening for an ENTRY LEVEL Supply Chain Specialist. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating all supplier related Company functions, ensuring that such functions support company objectives. This person would join a team of 6 seasoned commodity managers and initially focus on some of the more tactical day to day purchasing needs based off of the MRP system. Gradually, this individual would be exposed to more and more challenging duties including contract negotiations, new vendor sourcing, and developing and analyzing supplier metrics as it relates to the internal quality system. This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright grad who has a passion and sincere interest in a career in purchasing and supply chain management. Compensation and benefits are very competitive. Given that this is a relatively small company (65 mill/year in sales), it is the type of place where one will wear a lot of hats and gain experience in a lot of different areas.
· Responsible for overseeing activities involving with Supply Chain Management for goods and services, such as raw material and parts, equipment, tools, and supplies.
· Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or QA personnel, users, and management and relay opportunities for improvement and communicate corrective actions as required.
· Manage, track, and report on Supplier quality program. Periodic vendor audits to insure supplier quality and on-time-delivery.
· Responsible for providing the necessary management to ensure continuous material supply and supply base improvement recommendations.
· Utilizes background and knowledge of sourcing functions to assist Company management with supply chain development.
· Train to be a part of supplier qualification team.
· Source, investigate and propose new sources as required.
· Act as liaison between Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and supply base.
A BS/BA degree is required along with some schooling or internship experience related to Supply Chain Management. Full time academic concentration in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations Management is ideal. This position requires excellent communication skills, and the ability and aptitude to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
