Airbus North America Engineering - Mobile is a satellite office of Airbus North America Engineering (ANAE) engaged in the design and analysis of cabin interiors, interior systems installation, and cargo systems.  Airbus is currently seeking candidates for an Engineerign Specialist - Mass Properties position.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAllocation of aircraft top-level weight targets down to systems levelEvaluate and calculate the weight for cabin & cargo systems and equipmentMust be able to perform design support, preparation of bottom-up weight projections, weight control, and weight verification Check weight requirements on Purchasing Technical Specifications and Statement of Work to guarantee best weight offers from suppliersFollow-up of suppliers weight statusPreparation of weight status reportsPreparation of weight convergence plans and reportsAssessment of weight risks and preparation of mitigation proposalsPreparation of weight saving initiatives Check the weight data on drawings and ensure the input quality related to aircraft Product Data Management systemsCheck incoming weight reports to secure the guaranteed limits and aircraft performanceCalculate and create weight sheets for Technical Repercussions assessmentEvaluate and introduce light weight solutions to improve the aircraft performance



Experience and Education Guidelines:BS/MS in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Systems Engineering. Masters degree preferred.10 years engineering experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft weight management and mass properties engineering.Must have extensive experience with Microsoft Office products.Ability to read engineering drawings and working knowledge of CATIA to evaluate mass properties of aircraft designs.  Ability to write reports, technical memorandums, interface agreements, work statements and requirements documents using good technical English.Ability to effectively present information to customers, both internal & external.Ability to develop and presents design and program reviews and answer questions thereto.Ability to map and understand complex engineering processes, and to extract information from those processes to include timescales, enablers, deliverables and risk.Ability to inter-relate with and motivate diverse teams.
