Airbus North America Engineering - Mobile is a satellite office of Airbus North America Engineering (ANAE) engaged in the design and analysis of cabin interiors, interior systems installation, and cargo systems. This position will serve as a DOA Administrator responsible to develop and manage certification activities for Airbus North America Engineering.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities

 Responsible for the administration of the EASA Delegation Organization Authority (DOA) for ANAE. Responsible to develop the required processes and documentation to attain and maintain EASA DOA delegation.Manages all certification activities for ANAE, including but not limited to, coordination of Familiarization Meetings, establishment of Type Certification Basis, Issuance of STC and supporting aircraft return into service.Ensures that all DOA processes are harmonized with the requirements established by the Airbus Central Entity Office of Airworthiness.Develops all necessary training and qualification processes to select and nominate designated certification specialists.Develop a system to track and keep records of certification activities.Develop and maintain a certification designee management system.Serves and focal point of communication in summarizing and reporting all certification activities to Airbus Central entity.Coordinates with FAA, EASA and national authorities on matters related to the DOA organization.Responsible to develop a design assurance system to ensure that all engineering activities meets the obligations of the DOA requirements and to support all audit activities conducted by EASA or Airbus Central Entity.Must take pro-active role in identifying and resolving deficiencies within the organization, including non-compliance.Strong liaison with other departments both internally and internationally.Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Education Guidelines:

 BS degree in Engineering.Clear and in-depth knowledge of EASA and FAA Part 21 requirements.Minimum of 10 years in aviation with 5 years in managing certification activities.Ability to write reports, technical memorandums, interface agreements, work statements and requirements documents using good technical English.Ability to effectively present information in verbal and written form to customers, both internal & external.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade others without creating adversarial relationships.Candidate must be able to map and develop complex engineering processes, and to extract information from those processes to include timescales, enablers, deliverables and risk.Ability to inter-relate with and motivate diverse teams.Ability to lead effectively.
