Airbus North America Engineering - Mobile is a satellite office of Airbus North America Engineering (ANAE) engaged in the design and analysis of cabin interiors, interior systems installation, and cargo systems. The Engineering Specialist – Airworthiness will apply ample knowledge of principles, theories, concepts, industry practices and standards to deliver high quality design engineering solutions while assuring procedural compliance within assigned engineering project teams.

 PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This candidate will function as a Structural Repair Airworthiness Representative.

 

The candidate is responsible for:

· Performing the airworthiness approval of the aircraft structural repair solution.

· Verify the compliance to the applicable structural and airworthiness requirements and complete the Repair Approval Designee checklist in order to approve the Repair Design or communicate the reasons for refusal to Customers Service.

· Checks for possible unsafe conditions and report airworthiness issues to the Head of Repairs Approval or to the relevant Chief Airworthiness Engineer (CAE)

· When required, manages the Alternate Means of Compliance (AMOC) acceptance dossiers with the CAE and the Airworthiness Authorities.Ensure that the repair solution is certifiable and all the necessary data for certification is produced.Responsible for documentation support of the certification process.Supports modification team as required to incorporate modifications defined by the Service Bulletins including direct on site support.Coordinating structural repair approvals with global Airbus engineering centers.Report damages in the Reportable Occurrence category to the Continued Airworthiness Managers of the respective ProgramsContributing to the continued improvement of the repair approval procedures

 Experience and Education Guidelines:

 Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.Clear and in-depth knowledge of FAA, European and other Foreign National Authority aircraft certification regulations pertaining to aircraft structures.Minimum of 10 years in aviation or  5 years in aircraft compliance experienceDER experience preferable but not necessary required.Ability to write reports, technical memorandums, interface agreements, work statements and requirements documents using good technical English.Ability to effectively present information to customers, both internal & external.Ability to inter-relate with and motivate diverse teams.Ability to lead effectively.



Excellent Communication & Organization skills needed, along with the ability to coordinate meetings.
