Engineering Manager

There is a position available for a Manager, Manufacturing Engineer with Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company, KY.  This Salary Grade 14 reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

 

Requirements:

 

College degree in Engineering discipline, plus strong background in Lean Manufacturing concepts and implementation required.  A minimum of five years Engineering Management experience in manufacturing.  A broad background in various Engineering-related fields (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, etc.) is preferred, either through formal education or demonstrated knowledge and past work experience. Experience processing explosives or energetic materials is highly preferred.  The ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

The main focus of this position will be to lead our engineering efforts and staff in the development of new products by creating new designs; implement cost improvements in the manufacturing and engineering process.  Sustain and continuously improve Manufacturing Engineering practices, personnel and organizational competencies.  Provide sound reliable advice, counsel and direction to the engineering staff in matters of process documentation, process improvement, materials, training, preparation of labor and material estimates, make/buy decisions, equipment procurement & installation, facility layout, unit cost estimates, supplier development, data analysis, and Process Safety Management. Responsible for execution of developmental projects or programs site-wide, all aspects, including facilities, equipment, safety, quality, and schedule.

 

Supports Marketing efforts, Customer interface activities, problem resolution and employee relations/morale improvement.

 

This position shall facilitate success in this organization’s efforts to achieving its goals by working with other personnel at all levels and providing technical expertise wherever and whenever required.
