Engineering Intern
The engineering intern position is an entry-level technical position intended to provide the employee with industry experience, a familiarity with SNC, and enable SNC to obtain an in-depth evaluation of potential future staff members. The position is usually part time, filled by students in graduate school or the last two years of their undergraduate program.
An engineering intern may be assigned a wide range of duties depending on the specific background of the individual. Assignments are typically performed under the close supervision of a senior member of the engineering staff.
SNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only. They do not necessarily reflect all duties and responsibilities of a position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Software lifecycle design/development and documentation tasks, including assisting in the preparation of data items (CDRL’s)
Object oriented programming using Java or other programming languages
Engineering lab assignments, usually involving making quantitative tests using equipment typical of the engineering discipline appropriate for the intern.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Although there are no minimums, the engineering intern has typically completed the fourth semester of an undergraduate program leading to a bachelor's degree in engineering or science.
2.5 years undergraduate coursework in electrical engineering or related discipline Desired Capabilities: Electromagnetism, Digital Signal Processing, ANSI C, and MATLAB coursework and/or job experience.
*SNC is an EEO employer committed to recruiting a diverse workforce. Apply online for immediate consideration at www.sncorp.com or send inquiries to Thomas.Scharf@SNCorp.com .
