Honeywell is seeking a Band 4 Principal Systems Engineer for the Advanced Development Group within Space Electronics Systems (SES) located in Clearwater, Florida. SES is an industry leader providing space based payload and interceptor missile processing solutions. As a member of this team, you will provide Systems Engineering Technical Leadership supporting the development of new technology for our future high performance processing applications through funded IR&D or Advanced Technology Development programs. This position provides you the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the most talented systems engineers and leaders in our organization. This position will allow you to support the SES goal of growing our business through payload processing pursuits for Special Programs, Military Space, and Commercial businesses.
We need candidates who can: Provide Leadership - Provide systems engineering leadership through all phases of the Integrated Product Development and Support (IPDS) process
Build Relationships- Interface and build relationships with customers to develop business, define architectures, and requirements
Develop Technology- Develop, integrate, and evaluate emerging networking, processing, and software technology
Coordinate- design and analysis activities across all engineering functions, build and test of engineering hardware
Communicate- Communicate system technical progress to customers and internal management. Prepare and present design review briefings
Learn- Be a self-motivated rapid learner who is capable of adjusting to changing requirements and processes with limited supervision
Innovate- Simplifies tasks, maintains priorities and clearly defines non-negotiables, pushes the envelope on innovation wherever possible. Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness as self motivated individual or as a team
Manage Risk- Maintains customer commitments; identify/manage technical risks; balances approach risks vs. opportunities for improvement, challenges the status quo. Identify/manage technical risks and provide status to customers and internal management

Create purpose and meaning - Energizes people around the organization vision, creates win-win solutions, defines linkage between customer requirements and everyday tasks
Communicate - Communicate highly technical briefings to diverse customer and internal senior management audiences. Prepare and present design review briefings, and be proficient in professional technical writing
Grow the business - Must have a vision and passion for growing the Space Electronic Systems business
Basic Qualifications
1. Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
2. Ability to access ITAR related technical data whose export is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act - US Citizenship required
3. Must have at least 10 years experience or academic background developing new technology and technology related research for restricted, military, and commercial space applications
