Involved in planning, estimating, and execution for combustion preliminary and analytical designs followed by rig and engine test evaluation and development of the design for Honeywell combustion systems including new and existing designs. The specific aspects of combustion that will be focused on are RQL low emissions combustion systems and design methodologies for propulsion, including detailed aerodynamics and configuration definition design.
Development of technologies for RQL low emissions gas turbine combustion system for propulsion engines.
The contribution to the development of combustion design methodology including reaction mechanisms and multi-dimensional aerodynamic, for both steady state and transient analysis
Involvement in combustor study programs for advanced engines
Assimilating the methods for conducting successful combustion rig test evaluation in support of new combustion system and production support
Assimilating the Honeywell Engines combustor design process and toolsBasic Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering required
Minimum of 10 years of industry related experience required
Must have an understanding of internal combustion engines
Additional Qualifications
MS or PhD preferred
Attributes / Skills:
Major focus on the development of combustion systems for gas turbine RQL low emissions combustion systems including aero design and test evaluation process Enhanced gas turbine combustion fuel and air mixing methodologies and fuel injection devices Experience in using M/S products software, experience in planning and conducting experimental design verification (rig testing), and demonstrated knowledge and application of the IPDS process and six sigma tools Strong teamwork skills, able to work in a variety of team roles within cross-functional teams Good communication skills Must be dedicated to customer satisfaction and demonstrated the capability to establish and maintain strong business and personal relationships with customers and co-workers Must have strong written and oral communication skills Ability to facilitate interpersonal relationships, resolve conflicts tactfully, confidentially quickly and positively influence others Must be an effective listener and be flexible in approach of searching for best solutions
