The product engineering group enjoys a challenging and varied work assignment mix, supporting various development or production military avionics electronics programs with existing fielded products. A mix of technology and packaging exists. Programs supported may include military avionics and core processors, digital maps, data storage, command and control systems and weapons systems. The duties of the product engineering team include insuring product functions properly in the system and update of designs for new technology or obsolescence. The lead product engineer supports the internal factory with troubleshooting and drawing updates as necessary as well as provide work direction for other engineers. Develop documents to describe HW functionality, operating instructions, user constraints as necessary. Support root cause - corrective action activities as necessary. The lead product engineer will provide subassembly cost estimate and supporting documentation during the proposal process. The team supports other varied engineering activities as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
8+ years experience in developing and troubleshooting Military Avionics.
Familiarity with military avionics packaging, circuit card assembly designs, and FPGA/ASIC designs is required.
MUST be a U.S. Citizen
Additional Qualifications:
Power supplies, processors, graphics processors and high speed I/O, bus interface cards (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429/629, ethernet, fiber channel), conventional processor and memory, sensor interfaces, integrated sensor/electronics cards, communication protocols, display or synchro driver cards.
The successful candidate will have excellent computer and communication skills as daily interaction with team members is required.
Familiarity or experience working in a production environment is desired.
Knowledge of the military electronics and mechanical design cycle is desired.
Demonstrated problem solving skills are highly desired.
