 Engineer Sr Systems

 

Primary Responsibilities of Position:

The candidate will focus on the day-to-day execution of Missile Divert & Attitude Control department programs managed at our Tempe facility.

 

The candidate will assist Program Managers/Technical Directors by supporting and in some cases leading the following activities:

Baseline Management (Support Technical Directors efforts to ensure the technical requirements are being met and that contractual program scope is maintained) Earned Value Analysis (Ensure Program Planning and Control receives timely and accurate data on project task progress.

Output reports are then analyzed and action plans developed cooperatively with program PM/TD if appropriate) Risk Management (Identify and document program risks.

Work with PM/TD to develop risk mitigation plans and in some cases lead those mitigation activities as appropriate) Schedules and Milestone Tracking (Ensure PP&C receives timely updates to schedule and milestone progress.

Manage schedule updates to ensure project baseline is maintained or appropriate adjustments are communicated to project leadership) Proposal Management (Support pursuit activities) Customer Interface (Support project leadership (PM/TD) in maintaining timely and accurate communications with the Customer) Subcontract Management Support (as appropriate) (Ensure Procurement Organization (ISC) receives timely documentation and communications on project status and material acquisition needs) This candidate must be willing and able to support mechanical systems business pursuit efforts by organizing the proposal efforts, cooperatively developing pursuit plans with the pursuit leads, and assisting in the generation of management, cost and technical volumes of the proposal.

Candidate must work well with all members of the project team and must be able to adapt well to a changing environment. Must understand Space, Missile, and Marine requirements for design, build (workmanship), and test of our products as well as government property and safety requirements. Basic Qualifications: Due to ITAR regulations and project requirements, must be a US citizen. Bachelors Degree in Engineering. 5 or more years of progressive technical experience with expanding roles and project accountability. Attributes/Skills Required: Knowledge and experience in supporting the design, build and test of complex mechanical systems for use in space, missile and marine systems. Fundamental knowledge of development project management, control account management and experience managing technical baselines. Good oral and written communication skills; strong technical and administrative abilities with an emphasis on maintaining an efficient and safe work environment.
